Foster Care Volunteer

Department: Adoption Center

Responsibilities:

What’s Foster Care?

Foster care is an opportunity to care for an animal that’s not yet ready for adoption. It’s an alternative for animal lovers who can’t make a long-term commitment, but still want to help rescue animals.

Fostering is a truly rewarding experience

The Animal League provides all no-cost medical care at our medical center, plus the basic needs of each foster care pet including food, bowls, crate, litter, and more.

Why is the Foster Care Program so important?

The Animal League regularly rescues animals that would be euthanized due to a lack of space at other shelters that destroy pets for population control, or a special medical, or age related issue. As a foster parent you are helping an animal in need and you’re also providing the added space needed to bring another animal to the shelter— that’s saving another life!

Requirements:

Love animals and live in the New York Metro area? Consider becoming a Foster Care Parent and open your heart and home to an animal.
