We are seeking someone to transport NSALA staff and animals in a safe and timely manner to off-site locations and transport trips. Supervise staff and oversee entire adoption process and event at the location. Maintain mobile adoption units (i.e. clean, stock with supplies etc.). Select and load animals for the offsite event. Gather medical records and medications for selected offsite animals. Screen potential adopters for adoption approval, fill out adoption paperwork, perform computer and reference checks and enter shelter care insurance. Process approved applications. Must be available, if selected to go on cross country or interstate events or rescue missions (examples are the Bayer event in Florida, Tour for Life (TFL) or rescue missions). Various other duties as assigned. |
Sr. Kennel Manager
We are currently seeking a Sr. Kennel Manager to join our Shelter Team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maximizing adoptions through successful supervision and training of Managers, Team leaders and Kennel Staff. Ensure the general health and well being of the animals. Execute a wide variety of supervisory and administrative tasks.
Essential Duties:
- Supervise kennel managers and team leaders (i.e. train, motivate, counsel, evaluate, etc.)
- Oversee team leaders training by the kennel managers
- As lead manager she/he is responsible for oversight of the overall day-to-day operations of the shelter
- Interview, hire, train and retain managers and team leaders
- Recommend team leaders, staff and volunteers for promotions
- Come up with ways to increase and improve adoptions
- Interview, hire, train, counsel, and evaluate kennel staff associates
- Monitor associates performance-ensuring adherence to proper kennel procedures and policies
- Help oversee the shelter animal selection
- Train and motivate volunteers
- Keep current on all league events
- Keep working knowledge of all support areas as well as all departments of the League

Quality Control Driver
We are currently seeking a mature and reliable Full Time Quality Control Driver with a clean driving record to join our team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting in-home visits, counseling and educating adopters, identifying and documenting potential problem adoptions, preparing written and video documentation of all cruelty investigations and in-home follow up visits. The perfect candidate will ensure that all of the animals adopted from the League are in responsible homes, and that adopters are in compliance with the terms of the adoption contract.

Adoption Services Associate
We are currently seeking a mature & reliable individual, with a security background and a great love for animals. Duties include but are not limited to informing potential adopters that they have been denied adoption, crowd control, setting alarms, survey grounds, and securing all League buildings.

Pharmacy Manager

Surgery & Isolation Manager Opportunities
We are currently seeking a full time Surgery & Isolation Manager to manage our staff of Licensed Veterinary Technicians. The Manager's role in each position is to supervise and organize the daily activities of the Surgery and Isolation Departments. Ensure that daily duties are assigned to meet the needs of all pets in order to provide the best possible medical treatment and care. We are currently seeking two energetic, goal oriented, experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians with a management background to join our team of professional staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure all dentistry, radiographs, bandaging, and surgical work-ups are done in a timely manner
- Oversee distribution of information regarding procedures and protocols
- Work with Chief of Staff to establish and revise protocols as needed

Staff Veterinarian
North Shore Animal League America, the world's largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption center, seeks a full time Veterinarian to join our team of professionals.
NSALA provides high quality medicine in a shelter environment, managing a large and challenging medical and surgical caseload. Licensed Veterinary Technician
We are currently seeking to fill the day shifts & an overnight shift for the Licensed Veterinary Technician position in our Surgery, ISO/ ECU, and Shelter Medical departments. Data Analyst
We are currently seeking a Data Analyst to work within our Data Management Department. The Data Analyst will assist the Database Project Manager and Director of Data Management to ensure the quality and integrity of the database.
Essential Duties:
- Develop daily and weekly quality control procedures for all data import and data entry processes. Notify management of potential problems.
- Analyze existing logic for routine processes and make recommendations for improvement.
- Compile and organize documentation of all database logic and processes.
- Assist in the development of a new database infrastructure and user interface.
The ideal candidate will be a detail oriented team player with the ability to interact with staff at all levels and work independently under minimal supervision. This is a temporary project-based position with an expected duration of 6-12 months.
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience in related field
- Strong understanding of relational database design and structure
- Working knowledge of SQL language and Hyperion Explorer Brio
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications - advanced Excel skills

Information Technology Intern
We are currently looking for a part-time, 20 hour per week IT Intern. As an IT Intern you will provide the user community support services on desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, handhelds and phones.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing basic preventative maintenance on computer equipment, assist in the installation of hardware and peripherals components such as monitors, keyboards and printers; as well as, assisting in the research and procurement of computer accessories and supplies.
The successful candidate will possess the following competencies:
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs (i.e. printers, computers and other equipment)
- Must have the availability to work on Saturdays
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as this position requires direct contact with the user community
- Experience with Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007
- Experience with IBM, HP and Dell desktops, laptops and printers
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP and DNS
- Experience with Filemaker Pro 8.0 is not required, but is preferred
