ADOPTION ALERT: July 17, 2013

North Shore Animal League America is proud to partner with many wonderful animal organizations. Together, we share the goal of rescuing animals in need and finding them loving adopters.

Last Saturday, we joined one of those partners, the Bergen County Animal Shelter, at “Bark in the Park” in New Jersey. There, we met Ford, the beautiful dog pictured here who has been at the Bergen shelter, and we instantly fell in love with him. His loving nature was clear from the first moment, when he showered us with kisses and cuddles. When we learned Ford’s story, we knew we had to do everything we could to find a home for this brave dog.

Last January, the New Jersey State police found Ford half frozen to death on a highway. It looked as if he’d been hit by a car, and the poor boy was suffering from a broken hip and pelvis.

Ford was brought to the Bergen County Animal Shelter, where he was treated and given around-the-clock care, plus lots of affection. His bravery and affectionate nature made him a favorite of the staff there.

Ford is now ready to find the individual or family who will give him the love and special care that he deserves—and that he will return many times over. Please open your heart to Ford. Also, even if it’s not time to add a new pet to your family, please share this post so we can find Ford his new home.
