Hi Kay, Terri, and Carolina! Thank all of you SO much for becoming Sponsor Parents for Sixpence! He is a great little dog, and does not feel sorry for himself in spite of his limited mobility. All three of you have recently lost cherished pets, and I am very sorry for you - and Sixpence and I are honored that you chose to let us help you through your grief. I will surely tell Sixpence about you, and will give him a big hug and smooch from you all. I always tell him that he is a "special fellow", and I know he understands when I tell him about you - his special friends. Thank you for your wonderful support - without you Sixpence would not be able to live...you are his staff of life.

I recently received the sad news that my sponsor pet Nina passed away which devastated me being that it's only been a month since I had to put my own German Sheperd to sleep. I felt so sad but now I'm sponsoring Sixpence and that brings joy to my heart. Please give Sixpence a big hug and kiss for me and tell him thank you for spreading so much love. I look forward to getting to know more about him although just by looking at his soulful eyes I love him already.

I had sponsored Benji for many yrs and was so very, very sad when he passed. That yr I had lost my precious Maltese, Missy as well. I had her for 14 yrs.
So it really hit me as I adored Benji, I had several pic.'s of him on the wall in my office as well as Missy's.
I promised I'd never love another dog as much but then came Sixpence and then came 4 dogs I rescued and so the story goes......I know from experience that 1 of mine will be crossing that bridge soon as she is 14 and a Beagle and maybe 6P will be following due to his problems but in the meantime both will get and give all the love they can. We should be grateful for that.

Barbara and Sixpence,
I have been fortunate to be able to sponsor Sixpence for some time. Sixpence has the same "look" that my Puppy Joe had--a soft, sweet little scamp. Puppy was a dachshund who passed this summer at age 16 years and I miss the little dickens. In what I read about Sixpence he seems a lot like Puppy. I have both their pictures (along with everyone else's) on the refrigerator. I love getting my sponsor updates telling about Sixpence's adventures. I feel that now I am helping Sixpence in Puppy Joe's memory.

Hi Debralee!
Thank you for your heartwarming note - and thank you for loving Sixpence and sponsoring him for so long! It is obvious that you have a generous and kind nature, and that you have a genuine affection for rescus dogs.
Thank you for all the good work you do, and especially for supporting the North Shore Sponsor program, which keeps all the animals in great need - like Sixpence - alive and happy!

Barbara, We have been sponsoring Sixpence for many years now, God Bless you for the love and care that you give him on a daily basis. All you have to do is look in his face and see that it is all worthwhile. We rescue shelties and I know how hard it can be to deal with certain issues that the dogs come with. We have a dog now that came to us so traumatized from being mistreated that I was told that we would never be able to walk him on a leash around the corner. Well it took about 2 years but our "Jett" now gets so excited as soon as I put my sneakers on to go for our two mile walk. We have two rescue dogs at the momment. They truly know they have been rescued by all the unconditional love they give us and I know sixpence knows how much you love him. God Bless. The Arditti Family

Hi Jennifer - It's very hard to get updated photos of Sixpence. Due to his condition the camera often upsets him and we don't want to take the risk of him having a seizure as a result of it. If you become a Sponsor Program monthly donor, you can receive pet progress updates on Sixpence via mail. Please contact Karen Cornfield at 1-877-BE-MY-PAL to sign-up to become a Sponsor today! Thank you for your interest and continued support of this life-saving program.

Hi Jennifer...I'm sorry not to have replied to you sooner, I missed your posting. Thank you and your husband for rooting for Sixpence... he needs all the help he can get, and he's happy to have such a great support group (actually I'm the one glad for the support group, but 6p loves to be told he's wonderful). I will check and find out how you can get updates in the mail, and I will make sure someone contacts you. Thank you so much for following 6p's story, we both appreciate you SO much!

Hi Barbara! So glad to hear that Sixpence is doing well. We would love it if you had some time to post another picture or two and an update! Please say hi to him for me and my husband, and send him our best! Diane L above says that she gets updates in the mail about him...is there a way to sign up for this? We don't get updates! Thanks for your help.
