Carmen, Pablo, Venus and little Scooter (seen here checking himself out in the mirror of a child’s toy!) couldn’t be better taken care of. Their family has gone out of their way to make their disabilities unnoticeable to them. They are able to run, jump and play just like any other dogs thanks to the special areas their family has created for them. Inside their house they have a “Chihuahua Area” surrounded by child gates with a “food court” where they eat, a toy chest where they can pick their own toy and an area for them to play around in and rest. In addition, a fully enclosed outdoor area was made specifically for them when they would like to get some fresh air. The floor is lined with Astroturf to help protect their chests when they run around without their carts and a tented area was made to keep them shaded in the sun. What a life these pups lead!

Pablo, including his tiny sisters Venus and Carmen, is doing just marvelously. All three of the pups are continually improving in their wheel carts as they coast around both in the front and back yard! Pablo has been walking the most and his ability to walk in the cart has significantly improved. This daily activity usually tuckers Pablo and his sisters out, which means they need to catch up on their sleep. Pablo’s adoptive family often catches all three of these adorable pups napping together under a blanket. When he’s not asleep Pablo can be caught putting up a fuss during bath time, which is his least favorite part of the day.

Venus has been excelling at maneuvering in her wheel-cart and her agility has significantly improved. This is all thanks to her adoptive parents who have developed a specialized titanium wheel cart for Venus, which is lightweight and has smaller wheels. Because Venus is such a little lady she needed the help of a more light-weight wheel cart to allow her to walk around with the same ease as her siblings. Venus is especially happy recently because her adoptive mom is now only working part-time so she can give extra attention to her special little pups at home! You can be sure that Venus tries to steal away any extra time with her foster mom by plopping right in her lap and demanding to be fed separately.

The length of time that Carmen, Venus & Pablo can spend walking in their customized wheel-carts has been steadily increasing. Their daily training has improved their strength, helped their posture and to relieve some stress on their back and hind legs. Now, they are able to prance around in their carts so well, that their adoptive mother lets them run free in the circular driveway in the front of their home.
