Rhett

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Rhett has a wonderful, cozy foster home to call his very own. He is a great companion and despite having to have his sugar levels monitored regularly and receiving insulin twice daily, he is a happy feline who is quite playful. Over the years Rhett has grow accustomed to his daily medical care and doesn’t seem to put up a fuss. Rhett was formerly a part of the Sponsor Program and because his condition will require lifelong care and monitoring, Rhett was reintroduced into the program to ensure that he’ll receive medical care and support for his condition for the rest of his life! We are so thankful to all of his past and current Sponsors for their dedication which allows us to shower Rhett with the love he deserves.

Rhett

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Rhett is a gorgeous adult cat who came to the Animal League as part of our Rescue Program. Unfortunately, this raven beauty has a condition called Diabetes Mellitus. This means he needs to have his sugar monitored regularly, he needs to receive insulin twice a day and he will remain on a special diet for the rest of his life. This treatable condition is fairly common in cats and the symptoms are similar to those in humans. Properly regulated, Rhett’s diabetes should not shorten his lifespan or affect his quality of life. Rhett lives very comfortably in a foster care home. There we can ensure that he receives the care and love he needs to be happy and as healthy as possible. His foster family keeps a close watch on Rhett to safely control his diabetes and to be sure that his life is the best it can be. With the help of generous monthly Sponsors like you, Rhett will live out the rest of his days as healthy and happy as possible. We hope you will choose to be his Sponsor Program pet parent – thank you!

Penny

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Penny could not have started the year off any better. After returning to the Animal League for a second time Penny has found a fantastic home. One of the cat behavioral trainers here at the Animal League had a friend that she knew would simply love Penny. As soon as she came to the shelter to meet Penny it was truly a match made in heaven. Penny has started the New Year off in a loving and caring home with a great family! All of the staff at the Animal League couldn’t be more excited and are truly thankful for the continued support of her Sponsors, which allowed them to work hard at finding the right home for Penny to spend her days.

Sir Kobe

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Sir Kobe is spending a lot of time in the cat house lately!  He’s been a very bad boy.  He bit one of the other female cats in his household.  His foster mother is not sure what brought on this on, but in an effort to separate them, Sir Kobe is being kept in his own room most of the day.  While in his room, he does enjoy visits for playing, petting and relaxing.  We look forward to a very happy and healthy New Year for Sir Kobe and all of our beloved special-needs sponsor program pets!

Penny

Monday, December 1st, 2008

Unfortunately, Penny’s daily care has been increasingly more difficult to maintain for her adoptive parent. While Penny doesn’t mind receiving her daily fluids, it is time consuming and taxing to administer these fluids on an ongoing basis. Although her adoptive parent loves Penny dearly he does want to make sure that Penny gets the best care possible. Because Penny will always have a place to call home at the Animal League, she has come back to stay with us while we all work hard to find her a great, loving home; hopefully in time for the New Year. In the meantime the staff at the Animal League will be sure to shower Penny will love and attention as always.
