Sasha is doing great. She loves her yard – she has a lot of room to run and play! We have been bringing her in on cold nights and she crate-trained in a snap! She loves all the walks and we’ve increased her playtime mates from one dog up to two at a time. She has found the joys of tug-of-war with her new canine pals!

We also believe her incontinence has improved significantly since coming to St. Francis Animal Sanctuary – no accidents in her crate at night! But she will be seeing a specialist to see if there’s anything else that can be done to help her.

We are happy to report that Sasha made the transition to her new home at the St. Francis Animal Sanctuary without any problems. She settled in well and has adjusted to the routine at the sanctuary very quickly. Each day Sasha is taken out for playtime and walks and has been introduced to other dogs at the sanctuary under supervision. While Sasha is not yet 100% comfortable with male staff members, she is gaining trust and confidence each day. In addition, Sasha will soon be evaluated by a referred veterinary clinic to determine if her urinary issues can be resolved.

We have some wonderful news to share about Sasha. She was recently transferred to St. Francis Animal Sanctuary in Mississippi where she will be cared for and loved for the rest of her life. As a long-term resident of the Animal League Sasha received plenty of love and attention from the staff, but she did experience some stress as a result of being in a shelter environment. Fortunately, friends at the St. Francis Animal Sanctuary were able to bring Sasha to their facility. With a dog barn and acres upon acres of outdoor dog runs to enjoy, Sasha will have a wonderful, fulfilling life where she can receive care for her medical conditions and enjoy the great outdoors.

She even has plans to make Sasha her very own room in her home so that she will not need to spend time in her crate at all. We have a feeling that Sasha will feel like the queen of her domain once she has a big room to call her own! Hopefully the other foster pets won’t get jealous. In addition, Sasha continues to improve with her destructive behavior and her foster mom plans on rewarding her this holiday season with some special treats in her stocking – hung from the fireplace with care.

She’s even managed to get herself into trouble with some of her puppy antics. You see Sasha has discovered the game of tug of war and she can’t get enough of it. Sasha and her foster sibling Missy, a friendly Boxer, love to play the game together. However, they sometimes find their adoptive mother’s clothing to play with, which usually ends with a pile of tattered threads. Sasha’s foster mom is working with her to teach her to play tug of war with her toys instead!
