Pet lovers at North Shore Animal League America acknowledge that the actual birth dates of most rescued dogs are unknown. To give these wonderful animals their much deserved recognition and celebration, the Animal League is holding the third annual doggie birthday bash on August 1, 2010, known as DOGust the 1st. We are declaring the first day of the eighth month as DOGust the First, a universal birthday for rescued dogs everywhere.
