Tour for Life 2017: Tails From the Road

North Shore Animal League America’s mobile rescue and adoption units are once again setting out to criss-cross the country on a Tour For Life, our nationwide mobile adoption event. Now in our 17th year, we’re teaming up with shelters and rescue groups in 54 cities, across 32 states, to help find homes for hundreds of animals in need.

Our Tour For Life team is proud to work with each of our partner shelters and help them find responsible, loving homes for all of their dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. With each stop, there is always a great story to tell. Here are a few "tails" from their journey...

A Stop in St. Louis Finds A Loving Home for A Special Dog

St. Louis is a beautiful city, and the Gateway Arch is a remarkable site to be seen. We were very excited as we rolled up to the facility of the Animal Protective Association of Missouri. When the great staff introduced us to the amazing animals whose lives they work to save, we knew it would be a great day.

Abandoned Dog Finds New Beginning in Kansas City

The wonderful people of Wayside Waifs have an outstanding shelter with beautiful parks and hiking trails for the dogs to walk. We met so many wonderful animals during the event. One young pup that I am still thinking about was Apollo. Apollo was brought to the shelter after being found in a plastic bag in a shopping mall parking lot. Another Successful TFL Event in the Shadow of the Rocky Mountains

Denver is such a beautiful city. The majestic Rocky Mountains can be seen from wherever you stand and it is nothing short of amazing. The good and caring people of the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley welcomed us with smiles, and the event day was blessed with perfect weather. Visitors came from all corners of Colorado and the passers by couldn't help but stop in to meet the wonderful animals gathered to find their new families.
