Carmen, Venus & Pablo were rescued by North Shore Animal League America from a puppy mill in Virginia in 2007. They were slated to be euthanized. This adorable threesome are well on their way to getting around without much difficulty thanks to their own customized set of wheel carts. This extreme measure will not only save them from possibly crippling injuries later in life, but will enable them to perform normal dog tasks - such as being walked on a leash. |

3rd Quarter 2010
Siblings VENUS, CARMEN & PABLO - The weather has been hot and humid for these pups lately. Carmen loves going for walks with Venus, her sister, and Pablo, her brother, as well as playing with the other dogs in the neighborhood. In the severe heat, their adopted mother, Donna, has to be careful with them to avoid heat stroke. To prevent overheating, all their play dates will be inside. Carmen is 100% physically healthy after her scare with pancreatitis. The Animal League is so happy she made a full recovery. We are happy to report that Venus is also in good health, happy and spoiled. She too enjoys going for long walks even in the hot and humid weather. One of those hot and humid days resulted in Venus with a fever from the heat. Once it cools down, she will be able to go to the park again and walk around the neighborhood often. Big brother Pablo is fine too. He’s another avid walker, like his sisters, and he leads the pack in whichever direction he sees fit. His favorite route is a long and leisurely walk to the park for endless hours of fun, frolicking playtime!

We have great news to report - these adorable 3 pups are very healthy! Venus is the spoiled little girl; she sits on her mother’s lap and is hand fed one piece of food at a time. Since Venus is only two pounds, her mother wants to make sure she gets her share of the food. Carmen, The Diva, as she is called by her family, has the fastest tongue around. If you get too close to her, she will give you kisses all over your face! There is a new dog in the house, Nacho, and Pablo has made it his responsibility to take care of him. Pablo will break down Nacho’s food for him to eat because Nacho has bad gum disease. When there is a break in the cold weather, mom will take all of them a walk in their stroller around the neighborhood. The kids love seeing them and come running over to play, some kids even knock on the door for play dates. Every morning they have a two hour routine of physical therapy in the wheel carts to keep their backs straight. The rest of the day is spent jumping and playing. To avoid them getting hurt or falling, there are heavy blankets all over the floor. If you enter the room you have to watch your step, they love to tunnel and sleep under the blankets.
4th Quarter 2009
With the summer long gone, Venus, Carmen and Pablo aren't busy keeping up with a social schedule filled with pool parties and birthday parties for neighborhood children. However, they are still getting tons of attention from their adoptive family's relatives who frequently stop by for visits. And with the holidays approaching, they will definitely be showered with love from plenty of visitors. The grandchildren are still climbing inside of their gated area to play and rest with Venus, Carmen and Pablo. All three pups wrestle for attention on their back legs and hop up to give licks and kisses to everyone willing to pet them!
3rd Quarter 2009
Carmen, Venus and Pablo have been doing wonderful and their adoptive family has definitely noticed their love for the summer weather. In the yard they have a gated area where Carmen, Venus, Pablo and Scooter can hop, walk and scoot around. They all seem to enjoy the sunny weather and basks in it for hours. To avoid getting too hot, their adoptive family has set up a small tent so the siblings and Scooter can take a rest in the shade if they would like to.

Carmen, Venus and Pablo couldn't be happier with their carefree lifestyle. Their adoptive mother makes sure to keep up with their busy social life and surprisingly, they don't tire of their many play dates. There are quite a few dogs in the neighborhood that they play with and despite having only two legs, they manage to keep up with all of them! Their adoptive mother says that they are each a ball of energy and can be seen running and hopping around in delight. In addition to all the furry friends they have, Carmen, Venus and Pablo have also become close with some of the neighborhood children. Recently, they attended yet another birthday party. They were busy spending the entire time "working the room" for attention! Needless to say, they were habitually fussed over by all the kids!
1st Quarter 2009
Carmen, Venus and Pablo haven't been able to exercise outside as much as they used to in their wheel carts since it has been so frigid. The siblings truly loved running in the circular driveway in their carts, but the snow makes it a little cumbersome to navigate. However, they do have plenty of space indoors to run around and they love the many visitors that come over. The siblings' adoptive family frequently receives visits from their grandchildren who climb right inside of the gated area where Venus, Carmen and Pablo play. Venus, Carmen and Pablo love playing with them and, despite only having two legs, can be caught chasing them around!
4th Quarter 2008
The little trio of Carmen, Venus and Pablo are still maintaining their celebrity status. The siblings were recently featured in the October issue of National Geographic Kids magazine.
