Scarlett: 3rd Quarter 2006
"Scarlett" represents all the cats in our care. This little one's name is Squishy and he was born with a congenital heart defect. When he was first brought here after being rescued from a city shelter, a heart murmur was detected and was described as sounding like a washing machine in this little guy's chest! Blood traveling from his heart followed an abnormal path and thus caused a major strain on his little heart. Open-heart surgery was his only chance at a normal life. Because of our generous donors, we were able to provide Squishy the life-saving surgery he so desperately needed. He sailed through recovery like a champ and we are happy to say is doing quite well. This is just another one of the many happy endings here at North Shore Animal League America, thanks to supporters like you.
