Sponsor Animal Update: Toby
Toby: 2nd Quarter 2012
Toby had his first anniversary with his adopted family, and they had a special birthday party for him. There are no issues with regurgitating; he eats every meal as if it is his last and always cleans his plate. Just the other day, Carolyn said, Toby climbed into his feeding chair all by himself. She said it was quite funny and very smart of him. He cuddles only with her. At night in bed, he inches his way up to the pillow, so when she wakes up he's there, sharing her pillow. He has gotten better walking outside on the leash, not being so protective of Carolyn when he sees another dog close by. Carolyn had a trainer come in to teach her how to stop his barking at other dogs; she says “quiet” in a stern voice, then will give him a treat if he listened. Zoe, the other family dog who has the same condition as Toby, still wants to be the only one who Carolyn loves, but since Toby is usually buried under a blanket when he is on her lap, she is willing to pretend he is not there. Toby has a lot of love to give and has worked his way into their hearts.
