Meet Arial and Her Kittens
Arial is a beautiful, 8-month-old Tabby cat. North Shore Animal League America rescued Arial and her litter, giving them the second chance at life they probably would not have gotten elsewhere.
When the Animal League first brought Arial and her family to our Port Washington, NY facility, the kittens were only 1 week old. Their eyes were still closed and they were so small, they could fit in the palm of your hand.
Though Arial was a bit fearful and very cautious at first, she has settled in very comfortably. She is a loving and nurturing mother – diligently tending to her kittens –making sure they are fed, clean and loved.
Unfortunately, shelters – like the one Arial and her kittens were rescued from – are overflowing with animals that need homes. Many do not have the space or resources to care for them. When there are too many to house, many small, municipal kill shelters resort to euthanasia as a means of population control.
It is very likely that Arial and her babies would not be here today had they wound up somewhere else.
In the safety of the Animal League’s Nursery, Arial and her kittens are thriving. They will remain here until they are ready to be placed for adoption. Your support helps ensure that families like Arial’s survive and get the care they need to live happy, healthy lives.
