Get to Know Priscilla

Priscilla is a 1-year-old Chihuahua/Border Terrier mix who arrived last fall from Tennessee. This sweet girl has a condition called microvascular dysplasia, a rare congenital disease that can affect blood flow in the liver. In addition, Priscilla also suffers from epilepsy and is on a special prescription diet to control her seizures, and will remain on lifelong seizure medication. Both of these conditions are covered through our Pet Health Centers. Due to her condition Priscilla will need an adopter who is home most of the day to monitor her. In spite of Priscilla's special needs, she has proven to be a very sweet, affectionate dog. A member of our Foster Program, Priscilla's foster mom says she loves to cuddle and be pet. Priscilla is housebroken and walks well on leash. Priscilla gets along with other dogs but is selective of her canine companions, so a meet and greet is recommended to find the perfect fit. A home with no cats or other small animals is preferred. If you're interested in learning more about Priscilla and how you can give her the loving home she deserves, contact our Foster Manager Melissa Meade at 516-883-7900 x352, or [email protected]
