to Help California Animal Shelters
The devastation left behind by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles County and beyond has uprooted countless lives — both human and animal. As communities work to rebuild, shelters in California are facing an overwhelming challenge: finding space for the rising number of animals in need. Our shelter partner, Western Riverside County Animal Services and its three affiliated shelters, were already over capacity when the fires started. A collaborative effort began that included a cross-country lifesaving mission to bring 42 dogs and puppies from California to the safety of our Port Washington, New York campus.

After the Los Angeles wildfires, animals displaced from their homes faced an uncertain future. Where would they go when shelters were already at full capacity? Thanks to this lifesaving mission, space was made available so these pets would be safe until they could be reunited with their families. But now we need your help to care for these new arrivals.
