Meet Trey! Trey came to North Shore Animal League America in October 2017 from The North Country Initiative, or our Adirondack Region Cat Adoption Center as it’s more commonly known.
This adorable kitten was diagnosed with severe cerebellar hypoplasia, a neurologic disorder similar to cerebral palsy in humans, in which the part of the brain that controls fine motor skills and coordination is underdeveloped. This causes uncoordinated movements, which can range from jerky tremors, to complete inability to walk or control bowel function.
We’ve custom fit him with a mobility cart so that can move easily without putting strain on his body. And Trey will continue to receive the highly skilled medical attention he requires from our compassionate, dedicated veterinary staff — even if it’s for the rest of his life.
Trey’s devoted foster care parent and the staff in our Adoption Center are keeping their eyes and ears open for the perfect adopter to provide him with the responsible, loving home he deserves!
