Save Twice the Lives this Month
Because of the incredible generosity of our supporters, you still have the chance to step in for animals who need help right now. Thanks to a $100,000 gift from the Ann M. Bryand Health Care Fund, plus $5,000 from Carole and Andrew Drogin, every gift this month will be matched dollar for dollar to help rescue dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens, provide the care they need to heal, and find them loving homes.
Every day, animals are at risk simply because they don’t have a home. Your gift helps change that — and now it can do twice as much.

Honoring Our History and Our Future
North Shore Animal League America was founded in 1944 by animal lovers who believed a simple but radical truth: every animal deserves a home. For more than 82 years, we’ve been rescuing and protecting animals in need, providing lifesaving care, second chances, and forever families through our mission to Rescue, Nurture, Adopt, and Educate. Today we are proud to say we have saved the lives of more than 1.2 million animals — and we’re not slowing down. Visit our timeline to learn more about the amazing work your support has made possible.
Teaching the Next Generation of Animal Advocates
When people think about saving homeless animals, they often think of rescue transports, medical care, and adoptions. But creating a more humane future begins long before an animal enters a shelter—it begins with education.
First launched in 2010, the Mutt-i-grees® Curriculum uses a child’s natural connection to animals to teach empathy, compassion, responsibility, and social-emotional learning. Students learn about everything from shelter pet adoption and rescue to the importance of spay/neuter and preventing animal cruelty. Most importantly, they discover that they have the power to make a difference. Today, the program reaches nearly 6,000 schools, libraries, and educational centers around the world.
At Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, students have spent more than a decade putting those lessons into action. Recently, they helped unload a rescue transport of puppies, turning classroom learning into hands-on lifesaving. Their passion has inspired their entire school community to become stronger advocates for homeless animals—and more compassionate toward one another.
As Founders Month comes to a close, we’re still working to unlock our $105,000 matching gift challenge. Thanks to generous supporters, we’ve raised nearly $56,000 so far, but time is running out. Every dollar you give before May 31 will be matched dollar for dollar, helping us continue our mission to Rescue, Nurture, Adopt, and Educate.
Please make a gift today and help us inspire the next generation of lifesavers while doubling your impact for animals in need.
