Sponsor Animal Update: Toby
Toby: 4th Quarter 2012
Toby’s family is growing in leaps and bounds. He has a new megaesophagus dog, Patty, and Toby is literally half her size. There is now Toby, small (9 lbs.), Patty, medium (17 lbs.), and big sister Zoe, (40 lbs.) all with megaesophagus. Toby lets big sister Zoe know clearly that he will not put up with her being rude to his new pal, Patty. Zoe can still be a little suspicious of Patty. Heaven forbid anyone even looks at one of her countless bully sticks strewn around the house. She runs back and forth doing a quick inventory to make sure they are all where she left them. Toby and Patty are walked together and Zoe separately; they twist and turn and get Carolyn tangled in all the leashes. Patty likes the right and Toby will only walk on the left. All three were in for check-ups recently. Toby is the dog with the most serious of the megaesophagus with tooth decay, skin allergies, hepatitis, and pneumonia; surprisingly, he was the only one to get a clean bill of health. Patty still needed antibiotics for her last bout of pneumonia, and Zoe has some kidney issues that needed more tests. Toby was so happy to come back to Animal League America, where his dear friends are, and he made sure he greeted each with a yelp and a tail wag— so much so that it looked like he was going to take off like a helicopter!
