The Animal League is the first place to look if you or your family are looking for a specific breed.
While most people associate purebred pets with breeders—not animal shelters—we frequently have purebred pets available for adoption.
Unfortunately, we receive calls from families who need to re-home their healthy purebred pets for various reasons. Often, it’s simply because they’re moving. We also rescue purebred pets via puppy mill rescues—saving purebred dogs from imminent destruction.

North Shore Animal League America places an average of 20,000 homeless pets, including purebred dogs, into loving homes each year. We’ve saved close to 1,000,000 lives to date.
