November 9, 2011 (Port Washington, NY) – Animal lovers are encouraged to save a life and in an effort to draw attention to the responsible choice of adopting, North Shore Animal League America’s weekly Pet Nursery UStream feed is airing live every Tuesday at noon for Kitten Cam and Friday's at 3:00pm for Puppy Cam. Each UStream feed captures a sampling of the many beautiful and healthy shelter puppies and kittens, also called Mutt-i-grees®, that are looking for permanent and loving homes. Viewers are treated to the joyful and entertaining footage of puppies and kittens playing, exploring and interacting with their mothers.
“An estimated 8-10 million animals enter shelters each year and, tragically, more than half of those animals are euthanized because they are the victims of overpopulated shelters,” said Joanne Yohannan, SVP, Operations, North Shore Animal League America. “We hope that visitors who come to the Animal League’s Pet Nursery UStream feed are inspired to support our mission of saving as many animal lives as possible and making the responsible decision to adopt.”
Each week, the Animal League has a wonderful selection of hundreds of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens available for adoption. Potential pet parents are cautioned to stay away from pet stores, which rely on inhumane breeding facilities known as puppy mills, and to research breeders carefully. Adoption from a local shelter saves lives and remains the responsible option.
