BETH STERN’S 2014 CALENDAR IS HERE!
Photography by Howard Stern
This exclusive calendar will help support North Shore Animal League America’s expansion plan to save the lives of more homeless animals.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words— but when the picture is of some marvelous
Mutt-i-grees® that include dogs, cats, puppies and kittens in the company of Beth Stern, North Shore Animal League America’s volunteer and spokesperson, we’d say each photo is worth a million!
Beth and Howard have generously donated their time, talent and love by creating this one-of-a-kind, frame-worthy collection. The proceeds of the 2014 calendar will go toward a very special project: Bianca’s Furry Friends, a planned state-of-the-art Feline Adoption & Wellness Center named in honor of the Stern’s beloved Bulldog, who passed away in 2012.
“With Bianca’s Furry Friends, Animal League America will add a 14,000-square-foot second floor to our existing Adoption Headquarters that will feature a cage-free environment for hundreds of cats and kittens, so we’ll be able to save so many more lives,” Beth says. “And we’ll be able to rescue more dogs, too, since the area downstairs where cats now stay will be available to expand our very successful canine adoption program.”
"Howard did a phenomenal job photographing all of the stunning portraits featured in the 2014 calendar, which features Beth and many adorable, adoptable animals of every age, mix and size,” says Joanne Yohannan, Senior V.P. of Operations at Animal League America. “Whether they are canine or feline, young or old, they all share one characteristic: They were all rescued by Animal League America from dire circumstances and placed for adoption at our no-kill headquarters, where all found loving, permanent homes. We are so grateful to Beth and Howard for their devotion to our mission.”
“The kittens were all fostered by Howard and me,” explains Beth. “It really made this year’s calendar so special to both of us, since we knew these kittens so well and loved them with all our hearts.”
The calendar also features some of Animal League America's favorite canine friends, including Annie and Una, sweet dogs whom we rescued from terrible lives as breeders in puppy mills. The dog pictured with Beth (photo, at top) is one of our favorites, Leo, who is about a year-and-a-half old and just as sweet as he looks in the picture!
The calendars make perfect holiday and birthday gifts, and your animal-loving friends will be thrilled to know that your gift to them is helping Animal League America expand and continue its no-kill mission to rescue, nurture and adopt the wonderful shelter animals known as Mutt-i-grees.
“I’m so proud of these photos, and even more proud that the money we raise will save precious, innocent lives,” says Beth. “It was a joy to create this calendar, and by ordering it, you’ll bring joy to countless animals in need.”
