Stars Aligned for the 2023 Celebration of Rescue
On November 17, North Shore Animal League America’s annual Celebration of Rescue at Tribeca 360° in New York City drew together a constellation of personalities from across New York’s animal-loving community – as well as supporters both in person and virtually from around the globe – to champion Animal League America’s no-kill mission.
The blue carpet saw an array of distinguished animal advocates sharing precious moments with adorable, adoptable puppies; and guests were entertained by the charismatic TV personality, animal advocate and adopter, Brian Balthazar, who guided the night’s festivities. Event chairperson, Animal League America national spokesperson, board member and epic foster mom Beth Stern was on-hand to introduce one of the several heartfelt, celebrity-narrated videos of transformation and second chances.
In addition to enjoying inspiring rescue stories, the audience applauded the presentation of the Crystal Collar Award® to Baby Doge Community, honoring their steadfast alliance with Animal League America’s lifesaving initiatives. And getting the party up and moving, Grammy-Award winner and Motown legend Thelma Houston wowed the audience with her performance and lifted spirits with her soulful energy.
For those unable to attend in person, the program streamed virtually, extending the night’s magic to a wider audience, and ultimately strengthening the no-kill mission that has defined Animal League America for nearly 80 years.
