Get to Know Montauk

Last year, our team was alerted to an emergency situation where we discovered Montauk and several friends in need of our help. We’ve given this survivor the quietest place to settle into after a lifetime of distress, and him all the time he needed to show us who he really is. What we’ve discovered is a quiet friend who takes great comfort in his like-minded feline friends. Relearning his feelings about humans has been at times a struggle for Montauk, but each day we see him opening up a little more to pawsabilities of a life shared with quiet, experienced humans who can offer him a consistent, predictable, and safe home. If you have a confident cat at home who would like to share their joyful pet experience with him, Montauk may prove to be the most loyal friend. A home with no children is going to provide him the optimum environment for him to retire to. We’ve met many heroes, and anticipate we’ll meet another when someone very special steps up to be who’s been missing in Montauk life.

Next Steps for Montauk

All adoptions are subject to approval and you must be 21 or older to adopt. We cannot guarantee the selection of adoptable animals at the time of any appointment and animals cannot be held for your visit. Our experienced Adoption Counselors will make every effort to match you with your perfect pet.

Social distancing protocols will be observed while on campus and face masks must be worn at all times. In the event that there are too many people inside, visitors will be asked to wait in their cars and will not be allowed to crowd around the entrance or front of the building.
