Get to Know Rocket

Rocket is an energetic, young Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix. He is a loving and affectionate dog, but can be nervous at first with strangers. He would do best in a quiet home in a calm suburban or rural neighborhood, with an experienced adopter who is patient and willing to allow him time to settle into his new home. Further training will really boost his confidence. Rocket would love to go to a home with older teenagers and adults. A meet and greet is recommended for everyone in the household and any potential canine sibling.

  • Adults-only home

  • Can be both active and calm

  • House trained

  • Needs an experienced owner

Next Steps for Rocket

Our Adoption Center is open for adoptions by appointment only. Serious adopters are asked to schedule an appointment below.

During your appointment all social distancing protocols will be observed, including face masks worn at all times inside the building, temperature checks and filling out a health questionnaire.

All adoptions are subject to approval and you must be 21 or older to adopt. Our adoption screening process is designed to ensure that each animal is placed in a responsible, loving home with an adopter who is prepared to make a lifelong commitment. An important part of the adoption process is to match the lifestyle and needs of the adopter with the individual dog or cat being considered. If the screening process occasionally seems overly strict or time-consuming, understand that our first priority is to consider every animal’s best interests.

Adult Dogs (over 6 months)

High-Quality Medical Care

For the first 15 days following your adoption, we care for an adopted animals in our medical center. An adoption counselor will provide any adopter with specific details on what medical services are covered. After this period, adopters can transition to our Pet Health Center where our high-quality veterinary care continues.

We offer low-cost, high-quality veterinary care to all dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens—including pets not adopted here. Our quality veterinarian team provides all the services you would expect from a private veterinary practice, and when you visit our Pet Health Center, not only do you receive low-cost pet care, but proceeds help support our mission to save lives.
