Get to Know Arik
Double Adoption with Resilience, #E3452. Over the last year we’ve been witness to a true love story between former Happy Cat Sanctuary survivors Arik and Resilience. Had this relationship formed in their first shelter together? We’ll never know, but what we have seen is the piece of each other’s puzzles fitting so purrfectly together. Arik, a mild mannered, FIV+ cat, has always shown comfort in the paws of his roommates, but one by one each have found their way home, leaving him to find a new friend for emotional support. That unlikely friend is Resilience, who was the most fearful of all of her rescue, avoiding contact with humans, and even evasive with other cats. The magic spark happened when she was welcomed into Arik’s room. No longer avoiding overtures of affection from cats, she dips her head to great him and weaves tails as they walk the room together. While she’s still hesitant about human touch, she’s following Arik’s lead, watching him fully embrace his new found confidence with his special lady by his side. Watching their relationship build has been a beautiful experience for our staff and volunteers, but we’re not selfish! We want you to watch this unlikely love story continue in their first real home. A quiet, patient and experienced family with older children will welcome them into the happily ever after for the ages!
