Foster family neutered our dog without permission.

////Foster family neutered our dog without permission.

Question

Had to put our 4-year-old boxer in foster care... The foster person decided, without asking for permission or any contact, to take our dog and got him neutered... What can I do?

Answer

Remember you are writing to a North Shore Animal League America column and the League strongly supports spaying and neutering. Spaying and neutering help to control the overpopulation of dogs and cats, can provide health benefits, and may deter certain behaviors (spraying, wandering, etc.). All that said, people who believe that somehow their animal has lost monetary value due to an unauthorized spaying or neutering can sue to try to get compensated. Otherwise, consider a thank you.
