////I gave my dog away and now I want it back.

Question

I gave my dog away because I was depressed and have PTSD I want her back

Answer

People who give away or sell their animal generally have no further rights to that animal and the person to whom the animal was given/sold generally has no legal obligation to return the animal. Regrets do not equal rights. It is so very important to consider the decision to re-home an animal before doing so, not after. All that said, occasionally a new pet "parent" will agree to voluntarily return an animal, sometimes for a fee.
