Question

A friend of mine had to help save these kittens and keep them alive they continue to catch cats in the neighborhood that belong to people and we don’t know where they’re taking them. I just need them to stop being harmful to animals

Answer

People who suspect that animals are being mistreated can contact the SPCA (society for the prevention of cruelty to animals), the police, and other entities in their area that enforce animal cruelty laws. Cruelty to animals and animal abandonment are illegal.

Some people, organizations, and municipalities are involved in trap, neuter, return (TNR) programs to help reduce the overpopulation of cats. TNR involves trapping cats (typically feral), having them spayed/neutered, and then releasing the cats, generally where they were caught and often with a caretaker. Kittens and non-feral cats are often placed for adoption. Efforts should be made to locate the cats’ “parents.”

Cats are safer when kept indoors.
