Walk & Wag 2025: Taking Strides to Save Lives

Beneath a brilliant autumn sky, North Shore Animal League America’s 9th Annual Walk & Wag brought hundreds of animal lovers and their dogs to the scenic Garvies Point promenade in Glen Cove, where the waterfront set the perfect backdrop for a day devoted to compassion, community and rescue. As walkers and their pups made their way along the boardwalk, they were joined in spirit by supporters nationwide, all stepping up in communities from coast-to-coast to help save the lives of homeless animals. Together, participants raised more than $86,000 in critical funds to support our no-kill mission.

In addition to the Vendor Village filled with local businesses and pet-friendly partners, attendees got to visit with some of the adorable, adoptable dogs and cats in our Mobile Adoption Unit. Opening ceremonies included presentation of a special citation by Marsha Silverman, Glen Cove City Councilwoman, in honor of Animal League America’s community impact, followed by a heartwarming check presentation from the spirited high school cheerleading teams from Freeport, Great Neck South, Glen Cove, and Herricks. Through their “Pennies for Pets” campaign, these young advocates raised $1,000 for animals in need. Walkers also had the chance to meet Walk & Wag Ambassador Sam Rosalie of Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and this year’s Walk & Wag Hero, Bruce Wayne — a resilient rescue dog whose journey from hardship to healing embodied the spirit of the day.

We are grateful to our incredible sponsors who made this amazing day possible, and to everyone who participated, donated, and cheered us on!
