Pasha

After being surrendered due to his owner’s relocation, Pasha was overwhelmed. His sensitive nature was not suited for so much activity around him and he was initially placed on anti-anxiety medication. Fortunately, it wasn’t long before the newly-renovated Feline Behavior & Long-Term Care Home reopened and Pasha could find the respite he needed. Our staff was amazed at how Pasha’s demeanor changed after time on his own and enjoying the peaceful catios.

Aidan, who had been searching for the perfect cat for months, was captivated by Pasha’s “wizardly” appearance. Despite living 4.5 hours away, he knew Pasha was the one and drove to meet him. Their connection was immediate. Aidan couldn’t help but laugh at Pasha’s quirky habits. Now settled into his new home, (and renamed Mr. Merlin!) he’s thriving — no longer needing any medication, just love, and a little bit of space to be his playful, laid-back self.

“He’s genuinely one of the chillest cats I’ve ever met!”

Eloise

Surrendered due to her owner’s medical condition, nine-year-old Eloise struggled with the noise and bustle of a shelter environment. She ended up spending her days in the office with our kennel staff, as she waited for someone to see her potential. That person was Catherine, who found Eloise’s story online and felt an instant connection.

Last summer, one of Catherine’s dogs passed away, leaving the other feeling lonely. While Catherine knew her dog needed a companion, she was hesitant. It was only when she saw Eloise’s picture that she knew it was meant to be. “I never thought I’d adopt an older dog,” Catherine admits, “but now I realize how wrong I was.” With no need for house training and a gentle demeanor, Eloise has seamlessly adapted into their lives.

Eloise now enjoys exploring the yard, playing with toys, and making new friends. Her adopter cherishes watching her come out of her shell, knowing she’s home for good. Catherine says, Eloise’s adoption journey is a reminder that older dogs can bring immense joy and love to a home.

“I love seeing her head pop up with the biggest smile. She’s still so loving and happy even after all she’s been through.”
