What can I do if a Pit Bull kills or bites another little puppy in our neighborhood? No one seems to do anything about it, but it's a danger to our community.

My sister-in-law happened to find a cat that was in need of help and brought him to an animal shelter. The animal shelter told her that they were full and wanted to make her into a foster, but she didn't want to become a fostering agent with them and refused. The shelter is now blasting her and her 13 year old daughter on social media for inquiring for help and refusing to become one of their fosters. Is there a tax advantage or legal reason the animal shelter would attempt to force her into becoming a foster agent? What kind of authority besides the state police (we've already reported for defamation and harassment) for animal rescues can we provide this information to, to help prevent this happening from other people?

My dog ran out of the house and attacked another dog that was walking down the road. The other dog was not on a leash and ran from it's owner. Can I be held liable?

My wife was walking our mini dachshund in our neighborhood and was on a leash. While walking past a house, the front door was opened and this pit bull mix instantly went to our dog and viciously attacked and killed our dog. Was told by neighbors they had talks with the owner of this dog telling him they feared this dog due to its aggressive nature. Owner brushed them off. Looking for answers to my situation and what lawyer can help me out. Have been told to deal with it in small claims.
