Injured City Kitten Is Now Safe in Our Hands

Terrified and hiding under a New York City bus with a severely damaged left eye, Granola barely made it out of the perilous situation he was in. Fortunately, the tiny, five-week-old kitten was found by our rescue partner, Manhattan Animal Care Center, who contacted us because they knew we would provide Granola with the care he needed.

Sweet Oreo and Her Pups Find Safety in Our Nursery

Oreo came to us from our partner Rescue Dog & End of Life Sanctuary in Tennessee. Sadly, this adorable girl wasn’t provided with the responsible home every pet deserves. Oreo’s owner did not have her spayed and did not have a plan for her care in case of an emergency, which in this case turned out to be her owner’s incarceration. Fortunately, our rescue partner was able to take Oreo in, and to their surprise, discovered she was pregnant.

These young brothers suffered from neglect, and would likely have perished without intervention. Their tragic circumstances — avoidable with standard vaccinations — serve as a reminder that taking an animal into your home is a significant, lifelong commitment.

Bound and Determined to Protect Her Pups

Not even a coyote trap was going to stop Dolly — only a year old herself — from taking care of her babies. When North Carolina Animal Control discovered Dolly in the woods, she had the jaws of a trap clamped painfully onto her front paw, and her two precious puppies right by her side.
